June 23 Budapest, Hungary – The US-Hungary Business Council (USHBC) has started its inaugural business mission today. The Council brought a delegation of eight American companies to Hungary’s capital of Budapest for a series of meetings with senior government officials over Thursday and Friday. During the mission, participants will seek to promote and discover opportunities to increase their commercial cooperation with the Hungarian government and private sector.
“We look forward to building strategic relationships with the Government of Hungary in the search of increased trade and investment between our two countries,” said USHBC’s President, Eric Stewart. “I look forward to hearing about senior officials’ economic priorities and finding mutually-beneficial projects to pursue.”
Members of the delegation will attend meetings at ministries across the government, including with Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó. The U.S. Ambassador to Hungary, Colleen Bell, will also host a reception in honor of the visit and to promote closer economic ties between the United States and Hungary.
The companies participating on the delegation are Bell Helicopter Textron, BorgWarner, the Coca-Cola Company, Guardian Industries, Hungrana, Lilly, MetLife, and Owens-Illinois.
