USHBC Announces Inaugural Business Mission

Washington, DC – The US-Hungary Business Council (USHBC) announced today it will lead a
delegation of executives from American multinational companies to Budapest, Hungary to meet with senior Hungarian government officials on June 23-24. The delegation will be received by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, U.S. Ambassador Colleen Bell, and other ministers.

The trip will be the first-ever mission organized by the newly-formed Council, which launched in February 2016. Council President Eric Stewart expects to bring representatives of at least seven top U.S.-based companies to Budapest.

“The goal of our mission will be to open a dialogue directly with Hungary’s leaders about the opportunities for growing economic cooperation between the United States and Hungary,” said USHBC President Eric Stewart. “We look forward to taking a significant step toward creating new commercial opportunities for entrepreneurs in both countries.”

U.S. companies on the mission will be encouraged to outline the new opportunities they are pursuing in Hungary and broadly discuss any barriers they see to doing business the country.
